The human body has a number of organs that work to maintain your overall health. One in particular is responsible for a number of vital functions, including shielding the internal body from external harmful substances. It’s the body’s largest organ, and it’s the first thing you see when you look in the mirror.
I been thinking about my life and what I haven’t been doing right (in several areas, not just eating habits, etc) and I realized that I need to get my priorities straight. Its amazing how even the smallest change can make a difference in your life and even in others around you in a good or a bad way. Right now I want to focus on finishing school, changing my family eating habits, just overall living a clean and healthy lifestyle not only for myself, but for my husband and my 8 month old daughter. I will not raise my daughter on fastfood, chips, candy, etc..there’s enough obesity in America as it is and my baby Grace will not be one of them. I know that the only way I can stay clear of that is if I change our eating habits, where we no longer desire a burger or soda or whatever and it needs to start with me. The past couple months I really slacked, ate whatever and drank a ton of soda and I changed. I gained weight, felt disgusting and lost motivation to get back into my old clothes (that I wore before my pregnancy) and I needed something to give me that push and thankfully I did have someone to motivate me and still is pushing me because I force myself to walk, run or do any sort of workout videos. I hope at some point to I will maybe enjoy working out :) and I will be in the best shape ever. Right now I been running/walking almost 2 weeks straight and I’ve already lost 2lbs and a couple inches around the waist and I hope that maybe sometime soon if I keep up the hard work I will fit back into my clothes!
You know whats annoying? When people look at you funny for choosing to be healthy. When you go to Subway and get whole wheat bread with no sauce, no cheese, no meat, and just veggies people give you weird looks. When you go to school and order the healthiest thing on the menu and you can see your classmates eyeing you. When you decide to workout every morning before class and get annoyed looks or when everyone around you is enjoying pizza, pop, and wings and you decide to enjoy your water, whole wheat toast, and baked chicken and everyone somehow comes up with this whild idea that youre anorexic.. or when people tease you for choosing to be vegan or a vegetarian. or when youre at a party and decide not to chug beer and get wasted so you drink nice clean water and people just think youre an annoying party pooper. Im sorry, since when was being healthy a crime? i dont look at you funny for buying 1000 calorie meal at mcdonalds. I dont judge you for wanting to sit on your ass and eat a liter of ice cream. I dont get annoyed when you go to buffets every weekend. so.. here goes to all the people out there who have to put up with weird looks for making healthier choices.
